Our journal, New Annales, looks backward in time to another set of annals: Marc Bloch and Lucien Febvre’s revolutionary Annales d'histoire économique et sociale, first published in 1929. The Annales school promoted an entirely new way of thinking about the world—interdisciplinary, problem-oriented, and long-view.

We seek to emulate their approach.
